Postdoctoral Position in High-Power Ultrafast Frequency Conversion in Hollow Fibers
We are seeking a postdoctoral associate to perform experiments in mid-infrared nonlinear optical frequency conversion in hollow optical fibers. This program is a collaboration of the Wise and Moses (https://moses.aep.cornell.edu) Groups in Applied Physics at Cornell. It is funded by the U.S. Office of Naval Research and is available immediately.
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with the following skills or interests are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Experience working with hollow optical fibers
- Experience or a strong interest in nonlinear optics (experiment and theory)
Candidates must be comfortable working with high-power femtosecond and picosecond lasers. Prior experience with high-power lasers is desirable.
Interested candidates should send their CV including publications and the contact information of two references to Prof. Frank Wise (frank.wise@cornell.edu) or Prof. Jeff Moses (moses@cornell.edu). Candidates are also welcome to contact Prof. Wise or Prof. Moses with questions.
